Kang’s time has come and his latest conflict with the Avengers begins in the new series, Avengers: War Across Time. Taegukgi, Tiger Division’s leader, learns the true origin of his powers. New characters added to the database include the mysterious Mother Righteous found in Legion of X and the “original” Laura Kinney, now returned and replacing her replacement on the main X-Men team.
Book the Week – X-Men #18 (Review score: 48 Points; 15 Characters). Laura Kinney and Synch team-up with Wolverine and the X-Terminators to hunt down rogue vampires and clear up any confusion caused by Laura’s return from the vault. Elsewhere, the rest of the X-Men save an exploding Orchis station and its ungrateful members.
Hero of the Week – Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze (Review score: 16 Points/1 Appearance; 16.0 Pts/App). Johnny Blaze registers the first use of the new Light ability added to the League’s scoring system. He puts down Exhaust before sending Blackheart back to Hell. However, the Ghost Rider’s work continues as Blackheart’s influences spreads across America.
Antagonist of the Week – Blackheart (Review score: 6 Points/1 Appearance; 6.0 Pts/App). Blackheart nearly wipes out all the members of the Council of Night Magicians before being confronted by Ghost Rider. His short skirmish with the Spirit of Vengeance is short but his minions and corruption reaches far.
