Novembers ends with a small release of books. Marvel releases a mere five mainline titles, but they literally explode with action. The explosions are numerous for Dazzler, Jubilee and Boom-Boom in X-Terminators, with seven Energy-based powers between the trio. The students of the Strange Academy crash and blow up his headquarters. Strange details a blast from the past involving Doctor Strange and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s magical W.A.N.D. division which sets in motion the Blasphemy Cartel’s plans.
Book the Week – Avengers Assemble Alpha #1 (Review score: 63 Points; 22 Characters). Tensions erupt when the Avengers come face-to-face with their prehistoric counterparts. The two teams trade blows, unaware of the real battle taking place between the Prime Avenger and Mephisto. The arrival of Multiversal Masters of Evil forces the two teams to put aside their difference after witnessing Agamotto and the Starbrand fall to Doom Supreme.
Hero of the Week – Dazzler (Review score: 10 Points/1 Appearance; 10.0 Pts/App). The three way tie breaks in Dazzler’s favor for her unorthodox plan to free the X-Terminators from their confinement. She uses Boom-Boom’s biggest assets to shatter the mirror prison in which the X-Terminators have been trapped. She not only leads her teammates to safety, but saves the other prisoners trapped within her vampiric ex-boyfriend’s prison.
Antagonist of the Week – Doom Supreme (Review score: 9 Points/1 Appearance; 9.0 Pts/App). Doom Supreme notches his first Antagonist of the Week in his second official scoring Appearance. He is quick to raise the stakes in the battle with the Avengers by taking out two of the biggest players on the prehistoric team. He out-magics Agamotto by shattering the Sorcerer Supreme’s shields, ensnaring him in the tentacles of an eldritch creature and stabbing out the wizard’s eyes. Doom rolls over the Starbrand by contorting and smashing the brute’s body into a big, red ball.
