Judgement Day is upon the Marvel Universe and several characters unwillingly line up to have their worth determined by the fickle Celestial God. But while the Progenitor is playing mind games with the world, some characters are being mindful of other things. With Wolverine’s help, Johnny Blaze exorcises the demon infesting his mind since the start of his new series. Moon Knight shares the truth about of his D.I.D.-mind with the Midnight Mission. Moon Girl experiences a mind meld with Devil Dinosaur in the finale to her team-up series.
Book the Week – Immortal X-Men #6 (Review score: 70 Points; 26 Characters). The Progenitor does not remain quiet when it comes to Krakoa’s Quiet Council. It passes judgement on six of the Council’s members in Immortal X-Men, and two-thirds of them fail the test. Not surprisingly, three of those negative decisions are thrown at some of the Council’s less savory members—Destiny, Mystique and Sebastian Shaw—but Emma Frost, who remains unable to live with her perceived failures on Genosha, also receives a thumbs down. Kate Pryde and Exodus reveal their positive judgement.
Hero of the Week – Wolverine/James Howlett (Review score: 39 Points/6 Appearances; 6.5 Pts/App). Wolverine claws his way to the top of the Fantasy Comic League standings with an explosive week. He shows up in six titles, three of which tie-in to “Judgement Day,” flashing his claws 11 times in a variety of ways. He receives a Team-Up in all but one of his Appearances.
Antagonist of the Week – Sebastian Shaw (Review score: 7 Points/1 Appearance; 7.0 Pts/App). Despite Shaw’s negative judgement, which he refuses to acknowledge since the Progenitor delivered its decision using Emma Frost’s image, he continues conducting his business as if the world will keep turning. He even turns to an unusual business partner and summons the mysterious Mother Righteous. Shaw’s first Antagonist of the Week comes almost a year after his previous best performance of 8 points.
