No major Character Developments to kick off the new month, but similar to the start of last month, a member of the Multiversal Masters of Evil reaches the six appearance minimum. Avengers: Forever details King Killmonger’s history of killing as many alternate reality T’Challa’s as he can, but one manages to escape and joins up with Ghost Rider’s interdimensional team of Avengers. However, the main universe T’Challa remains on the run from his Hatut Zeraze and gets a surprise assist from Storm, his former bride, though she’s only there to confront him for his deception on Arakko.
Book the Week – Knights of X #2 (Review score: 94 Points; 25 Characters). The Knights of X split up in Otherworld to take on two missions. Merlyn confronts the leaders of Otherworld’s provinces for their failure to capture Captain Britain and turns mutant Mad Jim Jaspers into the scapegoat. Gambit leads half of the Knights on a rescue mission into Jasper’s Crooked Market. The other members join Captain Britain in seeking Lady Roma’s assistance in their quest for the Siege Perilous.
Hero of the Week – Spider-Man/Miles Morales (Review score: 14 Points/1 Appearance; 14.0 Pts/App). Miles continues his journey through the Miles-verse and comes face-to-face with General Ganke in a world where Selim, the evil clone, has taken over Brooklyn. He also meets an older version of his baby sister Billie, now a member of Ganke’s Resistance.
Antagonist of the Week – Carnage (Review score: 10 Points/1 Appearance; 10.0 Pts/App). Carnage secures another villain’s powers, this time the portal-hopping Spot and reveals his plan to reach out across the cosmos with his new abilities. Now, he’s coming for Doctor Octopus’ position at the top of the Antagonists chart. He ranks fourth overall and ties Otto with his third Antagonist of the Week with only four Appearances in 2022 so far.
Top Characters (by review score). Spider-Man/Miles Morales (14); Carnage, Clea, Shift (10); Captain Britain (9); King Killmonger, Prestige, Storm (8); Gambit, Rictor, Shatterstar, Spider-Woman (7)
