When Carnage hunts anyone who has worn a symbiote, Deadpool, who once bonded with four at once, becomes an absolutely appealing target. Wade unknowingly wanders right into the symbiote’s grip, and smack dab into the middle of Absolute Carnage, when he visits Ravencroft Institute. Absolute Carnage vs. Deadpool takes top honors for the week with a score of 34 review points by 21 characters. Unrelated to the Carnage event, the majority of those characters are members of Spider-Man’s rogues gallery who Deadpool misguidedly invited to a surprise birthday party for Spider-Man.
Computer and tech-based characters take the spotlight in the other top books for the week. Death’s Head deals with the mechanical bounty hunter’s confrontation of a newer upgraded version of himself, and Tony Stark: Iron Man witnesses the star of the book admitting to the government that he now considers himself an AI life form. Both books scored 22 points to earn Top Solo Title of the Week. Rocket Raccoon shares his tragic origin as a test subject on Half-World with the Guardians of the Galaxy in their 20-point Top Team Book of the Week.
