Weekly Marvel Review: July 10, 2019 (Week 28)

Sue Storm, the Fantastic Four’s most powerful member, proves just how strong she is on her own. The Invisible Woman’s debut issue of her new ongoing series is hard to miss with 27 review points. Ten characters appear in the Solo Book of the Week, including Nick Fury and Nick Fury, Jr. highlighting Sue’s little-known espionage work. Thor follows behind Invisible Woman with 25 points and explores some “War of the Realms” fallout for 18 characters.

The official “War of the Realms” epilogue fails to deliver the heavy number of points that the rest of the series had done. Omega clocks in with a low 16 point review score. Apocalypse & the X-Tracts more than doubles that total with 34 to snag another Top Event Book for the “Age of X-Man” event before it reaches its conclusion. The Avengers take a moment to unwind from the War of the Realms with a team bathing session in a Celesital hot spring. Most of them anyway, as Black Panther confronts Phil Coulson and his mysterious Squadron Supreme of America. Avengers’ 22 points earn them Top Team Book, easily topping the 9 points of an emaciated Champions team in their latest issue.
