It’s time for the heroes to join the hunt in the latest Amazing Spider-Man. With Kraven’s defeat at the hands of his son, the Avengers and Fantastic Four arrive to round up the villains he had trapped in Central Park. Though the villains outnumber the heroes 22 to 17, the good guys score 41 of the 67 review points in the week’s top book. That’s due to their coordinated team-up as opposed to the villain’s scattered retreat without their self proclaimed leader, Vulture. The Superior Spider-Man loses out on the top Solo title despite an impressive 51 points which includes the West Coast Avengers in a tie-in to “War of the Realms.”
In a slow week for Event books, Giant-Man represents the only proper “War of the Realms” book with 31 points, sandwiched between the two “Age of X-Man” titles with Marvelous X-Men earning top honors with a review score of 33. The team of tall heroes finish their short series by freeing Ymir, and the citizens of Miami, from Moonstone and her army of Frost Giant invaders. Malekith’s forces suffer two more defeats in the top Team titles. Angela and the Asgardians of the Galaxy destroy Heven and take down its Queen for a a total of 33 review points. Meanwhile, the Champions combat a band of Draugr working for the Disir, several rogue Valkyries, in South America. The young heroes score 32 points and send the undead army back to Hel to face wrath of their rightful ruler.
