Black Widow’s one woman war in Madripoor comes to an end, but her role in the War of the Realms expands. Natasha, one of Marvel’s most lethal spies, joins Captain Marvel’s War Avengers, a team of soldiers willing to take the fight directly to Malekith and his Dark Council. Her two appearances earn Black Widow 15 review points, her best score for the year, and a Hero of the Week title. Natasha and The War Avengers come in second place for Event books with a strong 78-point one shot comic which details how characters like Deadpool and Captain Britain joined the team. The main event’s fourth issue takes the top Book of the Week with 86 review points, the big reveal in the issue being the Iron-Odin suit that Tony Stark created for the All-Father.
The mutants existing outside of the Age of X-Man continue living through a series of sinister events. The Uncanny X-Men hunt down the Marauders to a fatal end. A revenge-fueled Chamber dies avenging the Morlocks but not before he burns the mercenaries to death. Despite two more team members quitting, Wolverine and Karma, Uncanny still tops the Team books of the week with 60 points. The top Solo book belongs to Amazing Spider-Man, but Peter Parker only earns two of the title’s 23 points. Parker also earns two points in Daredevil, the runner-up Solo title with 20 points, where he tells the Man Without Fear its time to hang up his mask.
