One would think that having a “Godkiller” suit of armor would come in handy during a massive war between the gods. But that does not stop Tony Stark from destroying his most recent Iron Man creation in his solo title. Iron Man dispatches the Controller in the 43-point top Solo Book from the week. The Champions are on hand, but the heroes are unable to turn the tide until Tony returns from space and builds the “Godkiller” suit. Doctor Strange could use a suit that powerful himself in his solo title. A trio of godlike beings – Galactus, Mephisto and Dormammu – work together to upend and consume the magical realms in the 25-point book.
The latest Avengers book ties into “War of the Realms” but focuses more on Black Panther’s Agents of Wakanda while the main cast is off on their own adventures. Gorilla-Man is front and center and scores six of the top Team Book’s 36 points, including a Character Development for revealing his dual loyalty to the Legion of the Unliving. X-Force scores 21 points and is one of the few books not tying into the big event or dealing with gods! Meanwhile, the X-Men take the top Event Book with their 57-point tie in issue. Sabretooth, recently reverted back to his evil ways, wastes little time in joining forces with Malekith and plans on offering up Magik to the Dark Elf as a gesture of goodwill. Sindr, one of Malekith’s most trusted lieutenants in the Dark Council, finally earns a spot in the Fantasy Comic League stat keeping due to her increased prominence in the event. She is responsible for siccing Ares on the Journey Into Mystery, sending minions after Punisher in his tie-in and she is stealing Asia right out from underneath the New Agents of Atlas.
