Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Thief is back to steal another “Hero of the Week” title in the Fantasy Comic League. Peter Parker brushes off his recent cold streak with his second top performance in three weeks. This time he claims it for himself with 15 points. Deadpool, Spidey’s best belligerent buddy, follows behind in second, falling one point shy of tying for first. Black Panther plays the straight man in the latest entry of “Deadpool Vs.” series. Nine of T’Challa’s 12 points come from Black Panther vs. Deadpool, the other three come from cameo heavy books Amazing Spider-Man and Fantastic Four. Not to be outdone in their big month, Jean Grey and Iceman represent two of the five Uncanny X-Men to place in the top 10. They tie T’Challa for third place.
Uncanny X-Men continues to produce points for a number of the reviewed characters in the Fantasy Comic League. Ten characters – including a surprise cameo by Thor – split 44 points in the revived flagship title. Nightcrawler is the next mutant to place. He teleports into sixth place with 10 points. Ironheart takes off in her new solo title. With nine points, she drops into seventh place and is also the only character to drop an antagonist in the week. Human Torch’s reunion with his sister continues across two books, but his seven-point, eighth-place finish outshines her four points for the week. Psylocke and Bishop pad their end of the year stats, but due to their lack of appearances throughout the rest of the year, any push they make in November and December will be too little, too late.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Asgard, Asteroid M, Do You Even Comic Book, Genosha, Latveria, Midtown, Multiverse, Negative Zone, Red Room and Wakanda. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
