Love, and Rogue, conquers all at the beginning of a new season of the Fantasy Comic League. The southern belle continues her torrid start to 2018 and resumes her torrid romance with her paramour, Gambit. Rogue scores a personal best 17 points for her third “Hero of the Week” title in 2018. But she’s not leaving her love behind. Gambit nearly doubles his own personal best score with a 15 point performance and slides into second place.
Marvel’s “Fresh Start” initiative kicks off with Jason Aaron’s new Avengers run. The highly anticipated book produces 35 points for the drafted Fantasy Comic League characters. Black Panther, who is at the center of the Avengers action, earns 13 points and takes third. Captain America rallies two of his closest allies back to his cause in Avengers. He places fourth with 11 points.
Storm continues her strong support role in Black Panther’s books, but the story to follow is her developing reunion with the Stormcaster hammer. Her 10 points are good for fifth place. In sixth place, Daredevil joins the “Hunt for Wolverine” with a nine-point effort. In Weapon X, Logan has to take a seat and Brian Michael Bendis takes a bow in Spider-Man. Miles Morales, Bendis’ star creation, ties the Old Man with eight points in seventh place. Captain Marvel and Tony Stark, the man she put in a coma, round out the top performances for the first week in May. The former Civil War adversaries each score seven points.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all drafted characters in the Fantasy Comic League divisions. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
