Help Support The Heroes We Love: One of my favorite aspects of comic book reading is the fact that you often can’t just follow one series to get a full story anymore. Most stories are told over a collection of Miniseries, or two On-Going series that bleed into one another. This is obviously very new reader friendly and so this month we’ll be focused on highlighting some of the new offshoots of pre-existing Series. And we’re starting July off by high-lighting Gotham City Sirens: Unfit For Orbit by Leah Williams. This is a weekly Miniseries, which is a sequel to 2024’s weekly Gotham City Sirens Miniseries, and I ponder if we’ll see the three-quel in 2026. It follows Harley, Selina, and Pamela as they get up to silly sexy shenanigans. And you can read the opening salvos of the story at DC Universe Infinite, when you subscribe to the Ultra Annual Level (which runs the price of $170 CAD).
Weekly Omissions – Absolute Green Lantern #4, Batman ’89: Echoes #6, Justice League Vs Godzilla Vs. Kong 2 #2, Teen Titans: Go! #5
Hero Of The Week – It’s my favorite week of the month, the one where our big leads barely show up (also affectionally known as Cassandra Cain week due to her double Appearances). Our fight for both Hero Of The Week and Performance Of The Week came down to Selina Kyle and Mitch Shelley. While the Catwoman brought in 11 Points, the Resurrection Man brought in 12 over a singular Appearance.
Antagonist Of The Week – This week, we had 3 characters bring in 5 Points, and 2 characters bring in 6 Points to tie for Antagonist Of The Week. Femme is King, as our top scorers are Poison Ivy and Scandal Savage.
Book Of The Week – JSA continues to be the book that wins the weekly prize just because of the abundance of characters in it. Book Of The Week went to JSA #9, which brought in 52 Points over 19 Characters.
Power Of The Week – Listen, I’m getting tired of the damn Temporal Power Usages at DC right now. Marvel scores that power like once every 3 months, but I seem to do it twice a week at least. DC is building up to a Time Crisis Event, so at least the Power usages reflect that. But still, stop messing with the time-line everyone. Every year DC pulls some timey-wimey bullshit that usually involves the universe either breaking apart or becoming one. At one Point, there was 52. Then Grant Morrison had 7. Then everything pre and post-New 52 all happened, even when things contradicted each other. Then there was 1. Then there was endless. It makes my head hurt.
