Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re highlighting Pride, the type that goes beyond a single annual one-shot. To kick off June, we’re focusing on Secret Six by Nicole Maines. This series is bold, messy, and Gay. We’ve got reality television level drama, unhealthy three way relationships, lovers leaving other lovers to die; Nicole Maines has really hit their stride at DC and this series feels unique amongst the lineup. If you’re a fan of Superman’s son being ridiculed for nepotism, Floyd Lawton being a heartless asshole, or Superman’s boyfriend slowly becoming a villain, this is the Series for you. And you can read the opening salvos of the story at DC Universe Infinite, when you subscribe to the Ultra Annual Level (which runs the price of $170 CAD).
Weekly Omissions – Absolute Green Lantern #3, Absolute Superman #8, Justice League Vs Godzilla Vs Kong 2 #1, Teen Titans Go #8
Hero Of The Week – I love a Superman/Batman lite week. It’s the time where DC’s wide array of other characters get to shine and we got dual winners this week for both Hero and Performance Of The Week. The first is Ryan Choi, the third Atom, a legacy character who rarely gets to escape Roy Palmer’s shadow. And the other character is the Resurrection Man, who discovers a dark lineage that in turns feeds the darkness inside him this week. Both Ryan and Mitch brought in 14 Points in a single Appearance.
Antagonist Of The Week – This was a great week for Antagonist performances. While only one character hit double digits, Bronze Tiger, Catman, and Lady Shiva all had 9 Point Appearances. Antagonist Of The Week would end up going to Vandal Savage though, who brought 10 Points in a single Appearance.
Book Of The Week – It’s Pride month and DC is kicking off the month with their usual one-shot. This year’s Pride anthology had an interesting story that follows up and provides closure for Alan Scott’s 2024 Miniseries, but the framing device pulls in so many wonderful characters from the company. Instead of focusing on the usual Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn of it all, we’re spending time instead with characters like Blue Snowman and Stitch Nassour. So Book Of The Week goes to DC Pride 2025 #1, which brought in 80 Points over 20 Characters.
Power Of The Week – Another unique versatile Power in the Fantasy Comic League is Sense. While it began for characters like Dreamer or Spider-Man for almost premonition like powers, it has evolved throughout the years to include particular insightful observations. This week we’re highlighting Cassandra Cain’s Sense in Birds Of Prey, which she tracks what happened to Big Barda off-panel with particularly insightful observations.
