Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re highlighting various aspects of the Crossover Event “We Are Yesterday” happening in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest and Justice League Unlimited. And we continue this week by highlighting the Stars of the Event. Bruce and Clark are of course front and center. While Batman is almost 150 Points ahead of Superman at 378 to 218, this is easily the year Superman has performed best against Bruce. Last Year Bruce finished with 907 to Clark’s 518, almost 400 Points between them. I don’t actually think Clark is doing better, I just think he’s getting more Appearances at Bruce’s expense. Clark has 38 Appearances to Bruce’s 57; last year at this time, Bruce had 73 and Clark had 31. So while Batman still reigns supreme, Superman’s much closer this year. It’s almost as if he has a movie coming out or something? And you can read the opening salvos of the “We Are Yesterday” Event at DC Universe Infinite, when you subscribe to the Ultra Annual Level (which runs the price of $170 CAD).
Weekly Omissions – Absolute Flash #3, DC X Sonic The Hedgehog #3
Hero Of The Week – This week is freaking absurd when it comes to Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent. So Superman put up 34 Points over 4 Appearances, including the Performance Of The Week with a 19 Point Appearance. But that still wasn’t enough to beat Batman; Bruce took home Hero Of The Week with 36 Points over 6 Appearances. Nobody at Marvel would ever put up 6 Appearances in a week, even though Marvel usually puts out twice as many Titles weekly.
Antagonist Of The Week – This week’s Antagonist Of The Week is actually a fallen Hero. From the past, Sinestro came to claim victory this week, bringing in 8 Points in a single Appearance.
Book Of The Week – 4 of the 9 Titles this week were in the 40 Point Rage, but only one can take home the prize. Book Of The Week goes to Superman: Unlimited #1, Dan Slott’s first foray into modern DC, which brought in 42 Points over 22 Characters.
Power Of The Week – This week’s Power of the Week is shared between two characters. In the pages of Ram V’s stellar The New Gods, Lightray and The Black Racer race against one another, using the Speed Power in a way that is more metaphorical than physical, as Lightray races against Death for another chance to live. Read this book, people.
