And we start by highlighting Mark Waid and his On-Going Series. World’s Finest has been a massive success for DC, set primarily in the past but setting up Events for the present. There’s a real joy to every storyline, utilizing oddball characters like the Doom Patrol, Metal Men, Jimmy Olsen, and more. And Justice League Unlimited is a modern day equivalent, utilizing the larger DC Universe cast of characters to tell its story. Weekly Omissions – Batman: The Long Halloween – The Last Halloween #7
Hero Of The Week – Bruce Wayne can be a real dick sometimes. Jace Fox had a killer 16 Point Performance, a performance better than most week’s Performance Of The Week. But Bruce decided to obliterate him with a 22 Point Single Appearance, as well as bringing in 29 Points total over 2 Appearances to score both Performance and Hero Of The Week.
Antagonist Of The Week – It’s a Battle of the Gs, as Green Lantern era Sinestro and Gorilla Grodd both tie for Antagonist Of The Week with 7 Point Appearances.
Book Of The Week – It’s Event week, so Book Of The Week goes to the Event issue, Batman/Superman: World’s Finest Annual 2025 #1, which brought in 93 Points over 18 Characters.
Power Of The Week – Look, this week’s Power Of The Week is going to Bruce Wayne, for one of his most commonplace powers, which is Investigation. But this is mostly so I can praise Al Ewing’s first Batman story, which played out in Detective Comics Annual 2025 #1. Ewing did an incredible story, with an incredibly complex and intellectual investigation at the heart of a story about technology and its perchance to destroy. This issue is one of the single best issues hitting the comic stands in 2025.
