Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re highlighting a sort of Years End for DC’s 2023 Year. DC managed to increase their output a significant amount from the prior year, while managing to distance many new and on-going Titles from the Greater Gotham Area. Nowhere feels ever entirely divorced from the Bat when you’re in the house he built but two on-going runs throughout this year managed to pull it off. These two series both encompass our 2023 On-Going Of The Year and Conclusion Of The Year. These runs would be The Flash by Jeremy Adams and Action Comics by Phillip K Johnson. These series propelled their individual families high alongside their leads. Johnson’s run ran until year end, but Adams’ burned with an intensity I’ve rarely felt from comics. You can read two of the greatest runs DC ever produced, in their entirety, at DC Universe Infinite, when you subscribe to the Ultra Annual Level (which runs the price of $170 CAD).
Weekly Omissions- Justice Society Of America #8
Hero Of The Week- We go out one last time this year with the King on top. Bruce Wayne would score both Performance Of The Week (17 Points in a Single Appearance), as well as Hero Of The Week (33 Points over 7 Appearances). So many character this week performed amazingly, breaking 20+ Points, but none compare to the character DC built it’s house on.
Antagonist Of The Week – There were a few stronger contenders this week, amongst what I would say are generally Titans level villains. Black Spyder strut his stuff over in The Penguin, while Gizmo laid the whoop ass on Wild Dog in Batman: The Brave And The Bold. Gizmo won out against Black Spyder as well for Antagonist Of The Week, bringing in 11 Points to Spyder’s 10.
Book Of The Week- We close out the year on an Event week, but thankfully DC kept this issue tight and focused on a core cast. Book Of The Week went to Titans: Beast World #3, which brought in 81 Points over 22 Characters.

Analysis:
Bruce Wayne came down from 1092 in 2022 to a more ‘reasonable’ 749 in 2023.
In 9 Weeks of scoring alone, Insomnia secured 4th place overall.
Harley Quinn beat Wonder Woman.
Dick, Wally, and Victor were the top scoring Titans. Bruce, Dick, and Cassandra were the top scoring Bat-Family. Clark, Jonathan, and Connor were top scoring Super-Family.
Both Flashes (Wally, Barry), Both Shazams (Billy, Mary) and Both Steels (John, Natasha) broke into triple digits. However Both the Robins and Batgirls were let down from having a perfect set when Stephanie Brown failed to make 100 Points.
