Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re highlighting comic book runs that have survived from 2024 and seem to still be going strong in 2025. This week we’re highlighting our 2023 Book Of The Year, Batman/Superman: World’s Finest by Mark Waid. This book is perhaps DC’s most successful series, having launched several One-Shots and Mini-Series under the World’s Finest moniker since it began. It’s a throw-back to an earlier period of the DC Universe, making it fun and easily accessible. And you can read the first few years of the story at DC Universe Infinite, when you subscribe to the Ultra Annual Level (which runs the price of $170 CAD).
Weekly Omissions – Jenny Sparks #6, Milestone Universe: The Shadow Cabinet #3
Hero Of The Week – Another week, another domination by Bruce Wayne. The man appeared in 6 of the 10 Books this week, scoring 35 Points to become Hero Of The Week. One of those Appearances was also Performance Of The Week, where Bruce brought in 14 Points at one time.
Antagonist Of The Week – This week’s Antagonist Of The Week goes to a new addition to the League; the Sorrow Lantern. Carol Ferris’ ex fiancée, Nathan Broome brought in 11 Points to score gold this week.
Book Of The Week – A recurring trait of Jeremy Adams’ Green Lantern run is it’s derailment by Events that require Hal Jordan’s presence. And to make up for these, DC often gives Adams a Special One-Off to do a massive amount of plot advancement in one issue. This time around, the one-shot Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1 took our Book Of The Week, bringing in 85 Points over 16 Characters.
Power Of The Week – We’re highlighting a slightly outside the box use of a Power this week. In Batman & Robin: Year One #4, Bruce Wayne finds himself pinned under a shipping container under water. While Dick is there to help, it’s Bruce’s clever use of rebar as Tech to pry the container up that saves the day for the Caped Crusader.
