Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re highlighting the All-In Initiative at DC, which is the branding used to launch new main universe titles alongside the new Absolute Universe line of comics. Many of these Titles are not relaunching, but instead seeing new creative teams taking over. This week we’re looking at the special kicking it all off, DC: All In Special #1, written by Scott Snyder (the Absolute Universe lead developer) and Joshua Williamson (who has been overseeing the main direction of the Main DC Universe for a couple years now). Both men do incredible jobs setting up a very exciting new status quo, alongside artists Daniel Sampere, Dan Mora, and Wes Craig. So much of the Absolute Universe feels like a response to Marvel’s new Ultimate Universe relaunch, but Snyder and company take a very different route to get there. And you can read the opening salvos of this company wide initative at DC Universe Infinite, when you subscribe to the Ultra Annual Level (which runs the price of $170 CAD).
Weekly Omissions – Justice Society Of America #12, Multiversus: Collision Detected #2, My Adventures With Superman #5, Plastic Man: No More #2
Hero Of The Week – Another week of Batman taking gold. Bruce brought in 24 Points over 4 Appearances.
Antagonist Of The Week – It was the final week of Absolute Power and guess what? Amanda Waller went this entire damn Event without scoring Antagonist Of The Week once. Instead, both Antagonist and Performance Of The Week went to Darkseid, who brought in 19 Points in a single Appearance which also saw him create the Absolute Universe.
Book Of The Week – Despite Amanda Waller’s full on wash-out, the final issue of Absolute Power was massive, as was the DC: All In Special #1. Both brought in over 200 Points, but with 246 over 48 Characters, Book Of The Week went to Absolute Power #4.
Power Of The Week – Darkseid created a whole ass publishing line of comics when he used Reality to create the Absolute Universe. Nothing comes close to that.
