Misery loves company, and there is certainly no lack of misery or company in the Spider-Man universe. Liz Allen bonds with a Carnage and Anti-Venom symbiote hybrid and adopts the name Misery to begin the “summer of carnage.” Other spider-verse characters added include Liz’s husband, the original Harry Osborn, aka the second Green Goblin, as seen in a flashback; and the Gamerverse version of Miles Morales in advance of his return in the upcoming Playstation game.
Book the Week – X-Men: Before the Fall – Sons of X #1 (Review score: 70 Points; 25 Characters). While the X-Men still deal with the fallout from the “Sins of Sinister,” the Fall of X begins and Mother Righteous places herself at the center of it. But first, a few characters get a reset. Banshee’s bond with the Spirit of Variance gets wiped out from existence and Nightcrawler returns to his non-feral state.
Hero of the Week – Spider-Man/Peter Parker (Review score: 21 Points/3 Appearances; 7.0 Pts/App). Peter Parker approaches 200 points and pulls way ahead in the Hero of the Week titles with his sixth on the year. His Team-Up with the Hulk concludes in the Joe Fixit series and he gets bonus points from his Free Comic Book Day title.
Antagonist of the Week – Carnage (Review score: 12 Points/1 Appearance; 12.0 Pts/App). Carnage denies Mother Righteous her first title by beating her by one point. With his big summer event beginning, he should have no problem catching up to Green Goblin and Mr. Sinister in the Antagonist rankings.
