The machine uprising receives a new ally in their war against the mutants. Depowered, defiled and then deceased, Moira MacTaggert remains determined to destroy Professor Xavier and the dream of Krakoa. She earns the only Character Development for the week when her predestined 10th life ends and her 11th cybernetic life begins at the conclusion of X Deaths of Wolverine.
Book the Week – X Deaths of Wolverine #5 (Review score: 29 Points; 12 Characters). After putting an end to the past threat to Krakoa, Wolverine ends the Phalanx’s threat from the future. The Wolverines, with the help of Sage and the Cerebro Sword, battle the Omega Wolverine’s rampage, successfully burning the virus from future Wolverine’s body. But the robots’ threat to the mutants is far from over as Mecha-Moira rises from the grave.
Hero of the Week – Venom/Eddie Brock (Review score: 17 Points/1 Appearance; 17.0 Pts/App). A new Lethal Protector series kicks off with a look back at the early days of Eddie Brock’s stint as Venom. His quest to protect those that can’t defend themselves gets off to a rough start. Not only does his appearance frighten those he wants to help, but he must learn how to work with the alien personality now bonded to him. That struggle earns him a Will Power as he resists the urge to lash out as his former girlfriend’s new fiancé.
Antagonist of the Week – Baron Zemo (Review score: 9 Points/2 Appearances; 4.5 Pts/App). Baron Zemo earns his first Antagonist of the Week with two Appearances. He confronts the wannabe Hydra usurper, Veronica Eden, at the end of Captain America/Iron Man and then fights for his life against a Savage Spider-Man. He earns a Leads Team when reinforcements show up to save him from the mutated-spider people.
