Event Book of the Week: Incoming #1
Writer: Various; Art Team: Various
Marvel and its top creators end 2019 with a story which recaps the year and their characters’ journeys. Incoming picks up where the Marvel #1000 books left off, by following the story of the Masked Raider and the Eternity Mask. Marvel’s top detectives, including Jessica Jones, and biggest brains, such as Blue Marvel and Mr. Fantastic, join together to solve the mystery of the Raider’s death. Little do they know that it is connected to the Hulkling answering the call of destiny to unite the Skrull and Kree empires! What this new union means for Earth, only 2020 will tell. Fifty-one characters appear for a review score of 103 points.
Solo Book of the Week: Dr. Strange #1
Writer: Mark Waid; Art Team: Kev Walker and Java Tartaglia
Dr. Strange’s biggest character development in 2019 came when he made a deal to restore the use of his hands. Now he returns to his original passion: being the world’s most renowned surgeon. He receives a new title focusing on how he plans on balancing the roles of ‘Surgeon Supreme’ and ‘Sorcerer Supreme.’ By the end of the first issue, he already has his newly restored hands full with a powered-up Wrecker. Two characters appear for a review score of 15 points.
