The popular future timeline of 2099 is doomed, but the present timeline is Doom! After surviving an assassination attempt in Amazing Spider-Man, Doom unleashed a horde of Doombots on the city of New York. The city’s finest heroes, including members of the Defenders and Champions, took to the streets and gave Spider-Man the Top Solo Book of the Week. Spider-Man earned a review score of 38 points, the most for the week. The Fantastic Four fleshed out the origins of the Annihilation event when Mr. Fantastic revealed he sent the Sentry to another dimension in an attempt to separate him from the Void’s influence. Annihilation – Scourge: Fantastic Four secured the Top Event Book of the Week with 33 points.
Magic realms joined the ranks of alternate timelines and dimensions appearing in top books for the week. Morgan le Fay continued to test the mutants’ connection to Otherworld and challenged the new Captain Britain with a Braddock verse Braddock confrontation. Excalibur finished with a review score of 28 points on its way to securing the Top Team Book of the Week title.
