Not content on just serving as the Avengers’ chairman, Black Panther also employs a team of heroes to gather information for him. However, running both teams has its benefits, such as being able to call on the A-list heroes to aid the Agents of Wakanda. In the second issue of Wakanda, Thor lends a hammer and a hand in the fight against Sentry. Doctor Strange and Abigail Brand also make an appearance to give the issue a 43-point review score and earn the Top Book of the Week. The team title beats out the first issue of the latest X-Men series which lays out the new status quo, and potentially provocative living arrangements, for the Summers Clan. Cyclops and family, plus Wolverine, score 34 points in the premiere.
With House of X/Powers of X in the rear view mirror, Absolute Carnage stands out as the main ongoing event, but none of its four books are enough to outright beat Contagion for the Event Book of the Week. The titular contagion fails to claim any more heroes, but it does feature 20 individual characters for a total review score of 35. Absolute Carnage and the Avengers, Scream and Deadpool tie-ins average 30 points with the main book topping out at 35. Captain America‘s 18 points secure the Top Solo Book of the Week thanks in large part to his continued team-up with the Daughters of Liberty.
