Whose house? Xavier’s house! The big X-Men event to end and reset all X-Men events begins with House of X. Writer Jonathan Hickman and Professor X sow Krakoa seeds of mystery across the Marvel universe and it’s anybody’s guess what will grow. Magneto serves as the ambassador who introduces the reader, and the human delegation, to the new mutant world order. House of X earns a review score of 43 points to ban the Top Event Book of the Week. It features 25 characters including some of Marvel’s mightiest mutants such as Cyclops, Jean Grey and Mystique. History of the Marvel Universe, one of two other event books from the week, only nets two points since the majority of the story recaps the early events of the universe up until Wolverine’s origins.
A noteworthy universe-effecting event takes place in Doctor Strange, the Top Book of the Week. Nearly three dozen cosmic and mystical characters join forces with Strange to stop Galactus from devouring the magical realms, but not even the mighty rulers Black Bolt or Gladiator can defeat him. As it turns out, the characters’ sacrifice was all part of Doctor Strange’s plan to overwhelm Galactus. The Top Solo Book scores 115 points. Marvel Rising, the Top Team Book of the Week, deals with its own magical threat. Morgan le Fay fleas the scene of the crime despite Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl’s attempt to reason with her, a tactic both young heroes have been known to successfully employ in the past. The heavily Inhuman-based team scores 25 review points.
