While Thor ends Malekith’s “War of the Realms,” Doctor Strange turns his full attention to Galactus’ consumption of the magical realms. The Sorcerer Supreme realizes that Galactus presents a formidable threat on his own, but when the Devourer of Worlds absorbs Dormammu’s magical abilities, Strange must rally a team of cosmic and mystic characters to join him in the fight. The assembled team includes heavy hitters such as Black Bolt and Scarlet Witch among the 39 characters appearing in the Book of the Week. Doctor Strange scores an impressive 102 points beating out the finale to War of the Realms. Realms ends its run by capturing another Event Book of the Week with 88 points.
Mr. Fantastic has a personal best top performance with 19 review points for the week. Not only does he have a cameo appearance in Doctor Strange, but he plays an integral part in the War of the Realms finale as he stretches across the time stream to recruit young and old versions of Thor. In their own title, the Fantastic Four face a fairly grounded foe, the federal government and the Department of Extranormal Motor Vehicles. Brainstorm and Powerhouse, the fantastic offspring, are forced to undergo a special vehicle driving exam in the top Team Book with a score of 32.
