Weekly Marvel Review: December 26, 2018 (Week 52)

The X-Kids are alright, they’re all alright. Despite being transported to the Age of Apocalypse, and experiencing some philosophical differences with how to cope with that change, the young students are not only surviving, but going through some upgrades. Armor takes center stage yet again in the latest Uncanny X-Men and earns her first ever “Hero of the Week” with seven points. Uncanny is only one of four books to produce points in in the final (and slowest) week of the year. Pixie, her one time friend and current opposition, is close behind with five points. She has Rockslide by her side in the book as well as in the rankings. They tie the Superior Spider-Man whose first issue of his solo title drops to end the year.

In the wake of Extermination, Domino reforms the classic X-Force team to track down Kid Cable. She takes fifth place with four points while her teammate Cannonball follows close behind with three. Fantastic Four, the fourth book to register points for the Fantasy Comic League characters is a milestone issue for Marvel’s first family. Human Torch, along with Thor, outshine the man of the hour by also scoring three points to tie Cannonball for sixth place. The Thing’s big wedding day is here. He rounds out the power rankings with the fantastic family friend Spider-Man. They each score two points in Fantastic Four. Black Panther, Captain America, Doctor Strange and Iron Man’s one point a piece for attending the wedding make them the only remaining heroes to earn a point at year’s end.

Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Asgard, Asteroid M, Do You Even Comic Book, Genosha, Latveria, Midtown, Multiverse, Negative Zone, Red Room and Wakanda. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores. Please make sure to tweet any questions or comments to the official #FantasyComicLeague tag and @FantasyComicLG for discussion!
