Weekly Marvel Review: November 21, 2018 (Week 47)

The X-Men continue their dominance of November, and this time, the real McCoy proves to be the Fantasy Comic League’s Beast of burden. The mutant’s premiere scientist, Hank McCoy, nearly triples his previous best performance and ascends to the top of the power rankings. Beast has only registered points in 14 weeks of being drafted, good for a modest 2.65 pts/appearance in 2018. In week three of November, he puts up an impressive 14 points over two comics. Storm, his friend and fellow X-Men, follows closely behind him in second place. A regular draft pick, Ororo is familiar with the upper echelons of the Fantasy Comic League. Her 13-point performance is less of a surprise and she now sits in fifth place for the overall year. Though not a mutant, Iron Man manages to make an appearance in Uncanny X-Men, the book of the week and comes in third with 12 points.

If November is not about mutants, then it’s about the Spider-Army crawling across the Fantasy Comic League like it’s the Web of Life and Destiny. Miles Morales, the star of Spider-Geddon and the upcoming Spider-Verse movie, leads the charge of four Spider-Heroes in the top performances. His 10 points web him fourth place and tops his predecessor’s performance by two. Peter Parker joins up with the Web Warriors and leads them on one of their dimension-jumping adventures. His eight points give him sole possession of fifth place. Iceman and Jean Grey, two strong contenders to have the top monthly performance, tie with the Punisher in sixth place with seven points. Six heroes squeeze into the ninth place spot: Hulk, Moon Girl, Shuri, Gwen, Otto and X-23.

Edit: Deadpool receives seven points from his Deadpool: Secret Agent Deadpool finale which was not originally included in the totals. He ties Miles for fourth and pushes the rest of the heroes down a spot.

Scores are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Asgard, Asteroid M, Do You Even Comic Book, Genosha, Latveria, Midtown, Multiverse, Negative Zone, Red Room and Wakanda. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
