All hail the king! Thor faces Doom in the distant future for the fate of Midgard. In order to match Doom’s combined might of the Starbrand, Sorcerer Supreme, Spirit of Vengeance and the Iron Fist, the Asgardian All-Father receives an upgrade of his own, the Phoenix Force. The two God-like beings battle for centuries until only Thor remains, emerging the victor and “Hero of the Week” with nine points. Mystique is the latest X-Villain to receive the spotlight in the X-Men: Black series. She ties with Peter Parker for second place and seven points. Spider-Man’s streak without topping the power rankings extends to 10 weeks.
A slow week for the Fantasy Comic League results in no drafted character appearing in more than one book while Venom’s Annual ties with the latest Mr. & Mrs. X for 10 points in a single issue. Venom earns six points and shares fourth place with Daredevil. The stars of Mr. & Mrs. X, Gambit and Rogue, follow behind with five points. They split sixth place with Dazzler and the young Wasp who makes her triumphant return in her new solo title. Shuri, another young heroine who kicks off her own series, notches her first points in the Fantasy Comic League. She slips into the top performances with four points and ties a duo of clawed characters, Weapon H and the original Wolverine.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Asgard, Asteroid M, Do You Even Comic Book, Genosha, Latveria, Midtown, Multiverse, Negative Zone, Red Room and Wakanda. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
