It’s the final countdown for two of the top drafted Fantasy Comic League heroes. Captain Marvel is the latest hero to explore the limits of the Infinity Stone entrusted to her. Carol and the Reality Gem reel in 16 points for her best performance since 2016 when she starred in Civil War II. Using the cosmic MacGuffin, the “Hero of the Week” convenes with Carols from other realities including one who took a different path in the second superhero civil war. Peter Parker is about to face another reality himself now that Dan Slott, longterm Amazing Spider-Man scribe, has reached the end of his countdown with issue #800 of the popular title. Spider-Man takes second place with 14 points, while his explosive milestone book features the second most points for the week. The Human Torch, one of Peter’s best friends, follows in third and earns two of his eight points in Amazing.
The top book from the week, X-Men: Red Annual, explores the moments after Jean Grey’s resurrection and her adjustment to her own new reality. Jean scores seven points and ties Daredevil, the interim New York City mayor, for fourth place. Ms. Marvel faces a familiar virtual reality foe brought to life and scores sixth place with six points, while Magneto plays a vital role in thwarting Havok’s evil plans before the Summers brother is finally reverted back to his own good guy reality. Magneto takes in five points for seventh.
Punisher continues to elude the heroes hunting him but can’t shake Venom or Wolverine who tie him with four points each. The three ruthless vigilantes tie for the remaining spots in the weekly power rankings.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
