Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re continue our highlighting of DC All In, this time highlighting new series coming out of the company wide intiative. First up, we turn our eyes to Cassandra Cain’s first solo Batgirl Ongoing since 2006. The new series is brought to us by Canadian Indie Darling, Tate Brombal (on his first Superhero title) and Takeshi Miyazawa (who cut his teeth on Silk and She-Hulk over at Marvel). Here’s hoping these two creators build something special for DC’s most beloved Batgirl. Hero Of The Week – This week felt the real beginning on the All-In Shift, as we’ve seen a movement away from Batman in favor of underserved heroes. And while our Hero Of The Week remains part of the Bat-Family, with Cassandra Cain bringing in 21 Points over 2 Appearances, our Performance Of The Week went to the Green Arrow, with Oliver Queen bringing in 17 Points over a single Appearance.
Antagonist Of The Week – Cassandra Cain didn’t just lift herself up, but also elevated the status of her Mother; Our Antagonist Of The Week is none other than Lady Shiva, who brought in 10 Points over a single Appearance.
Book Of The Week – After the time shenanigans of Geoff Johns’ JSA has gone away, the team’s lead title is back up for eligibility in the FCL. And they came in strong with a new #1, taking Book Of The Week. JSA #1 brought in 117 Points over 37 Characters, which is pretty damn impressive for a non-Event/Crossover title.
Power Of The Week – This week, I’m happy to highlight a power that has been underplayed for the last couple years. The most underutilized skill Cassandra Cain has is her ability to read body language. The first issue of her new solo Ongoing brings that SENSE to the forefront, while also challenging it with Lady Shiva, who knows how to manipulate the signs her daughter is sensing. It makes for a tense read that utilizes a great part of Cassandra’s power-set.
