Ahoy there mates, Brian here, co-captain of the Fantasy Comic League. You may have noticed the League has been a bit out to sea over the past year. But don’t fret, we haven’t been marooned or sent to the depths to meet Davy Jones. Shaun and I have been quietly navigating the rough storms of the comic book landscape while charting a better course for our one-of-a-kind, statistic-based review system.
During that time, I’ve also been hard at work on a personal project…enter The Crabby Captain, the first adventure in my upcoming Suits Your Fantasy line—a series of children’s picture books paired with a strategic card game.
Back in 2019, after the birth of my middle son, I created a collectible card format to track his monthly milestones. Somewhere along the way, I realized… why not turn those fictional cards into a real game? From that moment on, I began developing the mechanics, building out the story, and managed to convince my incredibly talented sister to help bring the world to life. Now, the book and card game are preparing to set sail on Kickstarter and we’d love to have you aboard!
