The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Time Variance Authority recruits a team of time-displaced heroes—Ghost-Spider, Poison, Captain Carter, and an unknown Gambit—for it’s new ongoing comic. Spider-Man 2099 breaks 100 points.
Book of the Week – Conquest 2099 #5 (Review score: 47 Points; 7 Characters). Dracula wins the battle against the Araneon Empire but against Silver Surfer’s warnings, he attempts to take his revenge too far. The Surfer intervenes and puts down Dracula.
Hero of the Week – Thor (Review score: 14 Points/2 Appearances; 7.0 Pts/App). Thor earns his third Hero of the Week title, one more than the previous year. He currently sits in fifth place overall but trails his 2023 score by 67 points with 11 fewer appearances, resulting in a 26.8% decline in performance.
Antagonist of the Week – M.O.D.O.K. (Review score: 13 Points/1 Appearance; 13.0 Pts/App).M.O.D.O.K. showcases his wide-ranging arsenal—12 distinct abilities—against Deadpool and Valentine Vuong. He earns his second title of the year after having none in the previous year. His Powers-to-Appearance ratio also improves to 2.63, up from 1.38 in 2023.
New Characters. The 2099 versions of Cyclops and Phoenix, they meet the six Appearances in under a year requirement; Captain Carter from the What If? series and the alt-universe Gambit—the new TVA recruits—get included for being members of the titular team.
