Help Support The Heroes We Love: This month, we’re highlighting our Distinguished Cup Award Winners. First we’ll take a look at Miniseries/Event Of The Year, where Mark Waid’s Absolute Power and Tom Taylor’s Titans: Beast World would clash, but ultimately lose to a One-Shot: Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing: Feral Trees. This single issue brought together so much of G Willow Wilson’s work with Pamela Ivy, in an incredible story that elevates Wilson’s entire two year run that is continuing strong it’s third year.
And now we turn our eye to Concluding Series Of The Year, where Joshua Williamson had multiple contenders (Batman & Robin, Green Arrow) alongside Tom Taylor’s multpile contenders (Nightwing, Titans). And while I love how much he did for the Arrow family, Joshua Williamson cemented himself as my favorite Damian Wayne writer with his conclusion of Batman & Robin. I will miss Joshua’s time with the character dearly and hope we can see it in the future. Weekly Omissions – DC Vs. Vampires: World War V #5
Hero Of The Week – Another week, Another award for Bruce Wayne, as Batman brought in 30 Points over 4 Appearances, scoring Hero Of The Week. However, it would be Lois Lane who took home Performance Of The Week, with Superwoman bringing in 17 Points in a single Appearance.
Antagonist Of The Week – This week would see a tie for Antagonist Of The Week, as both Darkstar and Star Shroud brought in 7 Points each in the final fight against the Green Lantern Corps.
Book Of The Week – Huzzah, we finally saw a real space shattering Battle break out in the pages of Green Lantern #18, which took Book Of The Week by bringing in 135 Points over a mere 18 Characters. Every single Character present was going hard in the final stand against Darkstar, Star Shroud, and their corrupt ruling council.
Power Of The Week – It was honestly a pretty unremarkable week for power Usages, but the award goes to Doctor Light’s use of Toxin, which involved her mastery over the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum to create red light to depower the Kryptonian Escapees from The Phantom Zone.
