If there’s something unfriendly in your neighborhood, who you gonna call? Ghost Spider! Gwen Stacy ain’t afraid of no ghosts, or the Inheritors, as she leads the charge into Spider-Geddon and risks making the ultimate sacrifice. Her starring role and start of a new series gives her her first “Hero of the Week” title with a 13-point performance. Gwen helps lead Spider-Geddon to the book of the week with a total of 21 points for six Spider-characters. With Halloween a week away, it’s fitting that ghosts and zombies and ghouls are pervasive in the fourth week of the Fantasy Comic League power rankings. Ghastly ghouls like Deadpool, who kicks off another altercation with a Marvel superhero in Black Panther vs. Deadpool. Wade snags second place with eight points to start the mini series.
Jean Grey, a recently returned from the dead character, follows in third place with a respectable seven points split between Return of Wolverine and X-Men: Red. A quartet of characters familiar with the land of the dead follow in fourth place with six points: Black Panther, the King who often communes with his deceased ancestors; the Punisher, the vigilante famous for sending many villains to their grave; Otto Octavius, the genius who has learned to cheat death through cloning; and Wolverine, the recently resurrected, nigh-unkillable mutant. Daredevil, who comes in eighth place with five points, does his best to prevent Punisher from killing when he appears in Frank Castle’s solo series. Iron Man and Thor round out the top performances when they tie for ninth with four points each.
Hero and power usages are a combination of all Fantasy Comic League divisions: Asgard, Asteroid M, Do You Even Comic Book, Genosha, Latveria, Midtown, Multiverse, Negative Zone, Red Room and Wakanda. League participants should cross-reference the official points with their hero roster and drafted powers for their heroes’ scores.
