Top Developments and Milestones. White Rabbit, Tombstone’s top enforcer, resigns from his gang following his attack on Beetle, her best friend/his daughter. Another offshoot personality of Kang, the He Who Schemes, makes his presence known during the Venom War.
Book of the Week – Amazing Spider-Man #60 (Review score: 41 Points; 11 Characters). The Zeb Wells Spider-Man era comes to an end. The farewell issue follows up on some key story points from Wells’ time on the book, including Rek-Rap, his most notable character from the run; the state of Ben Reilly’s new persona Chasm; Mary Jane teaming up with Peter Parker for a double date, but not in the way fans want. The issue also offers a look ahead with a prelude story by incoming writer Joe Kelly.
Hero of the Week – Chasm (Review score: 16 Points/2 Appearances; 8.0 Pts/App). Ben Reilly manages to one up Peter Parker, which is his ultimate goal in life, and earns his first Hero of the week. This however begs the question, when does Ben Reilly move to the Antagonist division, given some of his most recent runs as the Jackal and now Chasm?
Antagonist of the Week – Kang (Review score: 7 Points/1 Appearance; 7.0 Pts/App). “He Who schemes,” Kang’s latest alter ego, counts as the main Kang because he has not distinguished himself as a viable separate character. So Kang takes his first Antagonist of the Week despite losing proxy symbiotic war against Doctor Doom in the Venom War.
New Characters. Shadow King (Ultimate), previously thought to be same multidimensional menace, gets revealed to be a separate entity in the Multiverse.
Top Characters (by review score). Chasm (16); Spider-Man/Peter Parker (15); Mr. Fantastic (10); Hallow’s Eve, She-Hulk (8); Kang, Scarlet Spider (7); Doctor Doom, Ms. Marvel, Sandman (6)
