Varnae gets added to the FCL database and reveals himself to be in possession of Blade, explaining the Daywalker’s betrayal of the heroes during the Blood Hunt. Two deaths in Heir to Apocalypse—Penance and Exodus—balance out two characters returning from the dead—Moon Knight and Phil Coulson.
Book of the Week – X-Men: Heir of Apocalypse #2 (Review score: 56 Points; 14 Characters). Things go off the rails when Genocide interferes with Apocalypse’s test to determine his successor. The contestants, minus Mr. Sinister, Team-Up to protect a nearby village under attack, but two challengers fall in the process.
Hero of the Week – Black Widow (Review score: 18 Points/2 Appearances; 9.0 Pts/App). Black Widow tallies her first Hero of the Week with two strong Appearances which include a Team-Up and Defeats Antagonist in each book.
Antagonist of the Week – Thanos (Review score: 10 Points/1 Appearance; 10.0 Pts/App). Spinning out of Thanos’ recent solo title, the Mad Titan hunts down the Death Stone in the first of a series of Annuals. This is Thanos’ second Antagonist of the Week in 2024.
