Zzzax gets added to the database, though he somehow sneaks in without meeting the minimum qualifications. The MAX version of Nick Fury gets added because he has a minimum 36 overall Appearances. The new Ultimate Captain America and Jim Hammond/Human Torch get added as members of the Ultimates, a team-based title. The Blood Hunt begins with the biggest Character Developments of the week going to several Dark Force users who are turned into portals, funneling Dark Force energy to block out the sun. This leads to Blade’s big moment, betraying his allies and leading the Blood Coven.
Book of the Week – Blood Hunt #1 (Review score: 52 Points; 19 Characters). The summers big event kicks off with the Avengers fighting back vampires as darkness descends across the globe. Miles Morales, Doctor Strange and the members of the Midnight Mission also show up and are expected to play prominent roles.
Hero of the Week – Wolverine/James Howlett (Review score: 12 Points/2 Appearances; 6.0 Pts/App). After three months, Wolverine finally earns his first Hero of the Week in 2024. This ends a title drought that lasted all of 2023. His performance moves him one point ahead of Iron Man for third place overall.
Antagonist of the Week – M.O.D.O.K. (Review score: 6 Points/1 Appearance; 6.0 Pts/App). M.O.D.O.K., which could stand for Member of Orchis Designed Only for Killing in this instance, earns his first Antagonist of the Year.
