The X-Men team that never was finally gets their chance to form up since their death at the Hellfire Gala. Cannonball, Dazzler, Frenzy, Jubilee and Prodigy return for a universe hopping adventure to track down Moira X, one of the architects of the most recent mutant massacre. Other big developments from the week include the latest twisted chapter in Cletus Kasady and the Carnage symbiote’s relationship; Victor Shade’s reveal to be Ultron-12; and Deathlok’s mind getting stranded in a toy robot by his rogue computer brain.
Book of the Week – Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars: Battleworld #3 (Review score: 62 Points; 10 Characters). Spider-Man’s Secret Wars Secret Side Quest continues with his Team-Up with Sam Wilson, Daredevil, Human Torch and Iceman. Between the five of them they earn two Save Civilians and three Defeats Antagonists. Those antagonists being Absorbing Man and Constrictor who are teamed up with Baron Zemo, Electro and Hobgoblin.
Hero of the Week – Spider-Man/Peter Parker (Review score: 20 Points/3 Appearances; 6.67 Pts/App). The reigning Hero of the Year scores his First Hero of the Week. In his three Appearances he gets a Team-Up, Save Civilian and Defeats Antagonist.
Antagonist of the Week – Carnage/Symbiote (Review score: 11 Points/1 Appearance; 11.0 Pts/App). Likewise, the reigning Antagonist of the Year also scores his first title in 2024. The symbiote wins the existential battle with its Cletus Kasady personality and he absorbs it back into his body.
