The new Punisher series with a new Punisher launches and the vigilante wastes no time in wasting one of Marvel’s go-to jobbers, Mr. Hyde. A new Thanos series brings together the Illuminati, with new members Blue Marvel and Emma Frost. Vulture, Orchis’ newest scientist in their fight against mutants, experiments with the Techno-Organic Virus and turns Cloak, Dagger, Feral, Fatale (new to the scoring system) and Reaper into his Techno-Organic Hounds. Doctor Strange sneaks over the 200 threshold.
Book the Week – X-Force #46 (Review score: 44 Points; 9 Characters). The biggest moment from the week comes when Colossus breaks his brother’s control over him, ending the long-running, tragic story that began two years ago in X-Force #24. Colossus. It ends with more heartbreak for the peaceful Piotr Rasputin, forced to commit another heinous act, ripping Mikhail’s heart out of his body.
Hero of the Week – Punisher/Joe Garrison (Review score: 16 Points/1 Appearance; 16.0 Pts/App). The new Punisher makes an explosive first appearance with a Leads Team, Character Development and Defeats Antagonist to go along with his 12 distinct power usages. He earns twice as many points as the next closest characters.
Antagonist of the Week – Mikhail Rasputin (Review score: 7 Points/1 Appearance; 7.0 Pts/App). Mikhail ties for Mr. Hyde for top score and shares the same number of Appearances and the same character development – their supposed death. However, Mikhail’s death represents a much bigger character moment, not just for him, but also for his brother who is forced to take his life.
