Jonathan Hickman’s anticipated take on Marvel’s mystical and mathematical powers launches with G.O.D.S. Doctor Strange finds himself in the middle of a ongoing struggle between The-Powers-That-Be and The-Natural-Order-of-Things. And who better to navigate the conflict than a man well-versed in both magic and science.
Book the Week – Fantastic Four #12 (Review score: 47 Points; 10 Characters). The Fantastic Four get sucked into a portal where they face off with dinosaur versions of the Avengers, while the “Fantastic Dinofours” take their place in the main reality and clash with the Avengers. Luckily, Reed Richards develops a means of communication to bring an end to the fighting, until a dino Doctor Doom shows up to lay claim to the portal.
Hero of the Week – Mr. Fantastic (Review score: 17 Points/3 Appearances; 5.67 Pts/App). Mr. Fantastic earns his first Hero of the Week for 2023. He impresses in his three Appearances with a typical Stretch and Tech usage for him in each book.
Antagonist of the Week – Sebastian Shaw (Review score: 6 Points/1 Appearances; 6.0 Pts/App). Sebastian Shaw gets the only Character Development for the week when he introduces—and uses—the Hellfire Armor, a creation brought upon by Orchis’ plundering of Stark Industries’ assets. Shaw dons the suit in his latest attempt to plunder Krakoa’s assets, which Professor X is fiercely guarding.
