Sometimes things are always Black and White, as is the case with this week’s comics. Black Panther and White Fox battle it out for the Heroes’ top spot. Tony Stark becomes the new Black King for the Hellfire Club. Pandora Peters, agent of W.A.N.D., makes her sixth Appearance within a year and gets added to the Fantasy Comic League database.
Book the Week – Spider-Gwen Annual #1 (Review score: 40 Points; 10 Characters). Spider-Gwen and White Fox face off in the latest round of the Contest of Chaos. Though they start off as rivals in an ever changing fantasy landscape, they quickly put aside their differences to focus on their confusing conflict. Forced to finish the fight, White Fox rises to the occasion and claims the victory, though Spider-Gwen vows to save her new friend.
Hero of the Week – White Fox (Review score: 12 Points/1 Appearance; 12.0 Pts/App). White Fox and Black Panther not only tie for the top spot, but they are also locked in the secondary statistics which normally would serve as the tie breaker. In addition to their 9 power usages, they each get a Team-Up and a Defeats Antagonist. White Fox gets the nod because her victory over Spider-Gwen is more impactful to her Appearance, earning her a spot as Agatha’s next Chaos Champion.
Antagonist of the Week – Mephisto (Review score: 11 Points/2 Appearances; 5.50 Pts/App). Things have cooled off a bit for Mephisto since his Multiversal war against the Avengers. Now back to antagonizing his usual heroes, Silver Surfer and Ghost Rider, he earns his second Antagonist of the Year and first since Week 10.
