Spider-Man has teamed up with his enemies before, but a twist on that trope in the latest Amazing Spider-Man sees Peter team up with Doctor Octopus’ rejected tentacles. In the first Web of Carnage issue, Kraven the Spider-Hunter, an alternate universe Kraven with the powers of Spider-Man, receives the powers of the Inheritors and the Carnage symbiote casts aside Job Shayde—its latest human host—striking out on its own once more.
Book the Week – Immortal X-Men #13 (Review score: 38 Points; 13 Characters). The Quiet Council of Krakoa has been compromised thanks to Sinister, and tempers and storms flare between its members. But the quietest member of the Quiet Council comes forward with a solution. Doug Ramsey moves for the Council to be disbanded, a decision which the rest begrudgingly agree. Unfortunately, once Cypher speaks on behalf of Krakoa, the mutant island absorbs him into itself for protection.
Hero of the Week – Moon Knight (Review score: 14 Points/1 Appearance; 14.0 Pts/App). Moon Knight hits a milestone 25th issue, which fleshes out some of his background as a Karnak Cowboy, his mercenary team alongside his love interest, Layla El-Faouly. He puts up his first Hero of the Week performance in a little over a year.
Antagonist of the Week – Carnage/Symbiote (Review score: 9 Points/1 Appearance; 9.0 Pts/App). As has become common in recent times, summer means it’s all about Carnage. Whether it symbiote or Cletus Kasady, Marvel pushes an event focused on the psychotic symbiote. This time the symbiote takes home the Antagonist of the Week title, his second on the year.
