Doctor Doom, always covetous of other’s powers, steals the Venom symbiote from Eddie Brock in the latest “Lethal Protector” flashback series. Captain Marvel hits 100 points as a parting gift to her series’ conclusion—also fittingly, issue 50 earned a 50-point review score!
Book the Week – Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 (Review score: 51 Points; 25 Characters). The latest anthology book puts some of Marvel’s newest LGBT+ characters front and center to celebrate Pride Month. Web-Weaver swings in from the edges of the Spider-Verse and Gimmick commits to training with her fellow mutants on Krakoa. Classic icons such as Hulkling and Wiccan appear as well.
Hero of the Week – Venom/Eddie Brock (Review score: 15 Points/1 Appearance; 15.0 Pts/App). Eddie wins his second Hero of the Week title with his one appearance performance breaking the tie with Spider-Man in his favor. As expected with symbiote-based heroes, he holds a steady Powers/Appearance ratio with 6.3, which leads the category.
Antagonist of the Week – Doctor Doom (Review score: 6 Points/1 Appearance; 6.0 Pts/App). Doctor Doom could have had a higher score, but the version of Doom found in Thing’s Clobberin’ Time book is ruled to be an older, alternate version of himself. He moves into a tie for second with Carnage in the Antagonist division.
