Nick Fury teleports off into the sunset and officially leaves the safety of the mainstream Marvel Universe in the hands of his son. Al Ewing’s Fury one shot celebrates 60 years of Marvel’s top spy and the passing of the baton to Nick Fury, Jr. Other key moments from the week include Galura, the new addition to the New Mutants; and Count Nefaria’s new Lethal Legion recruits, Moonstone and Unicorn. Toodle Pip’s plotting against Zeitgeist backfires when the the X-Cellent’s leader kills her in response to her betrayal.
Book the Week – Storm #1 (Review score: 48 Points; 11 Characters). The latest throwback series comes from Ann Nocenti, known for her co-creation of Mojo and Longshot. Nocenti tackles Storm during her more rebellious days as leader of the X-Men as she struggles with controlling her powers.
Hero of the Week – Storm (Review score: 10 Points/1 Appearance; 10.0 Pts/App). Storm earns her first Hero of the Week title over Nick Fury, Jr. despite his big exit. She earns the accolade for a more eventful Appearance in which she scores a Defeats Antagonist and a Save Civilian.
Antagonist of the Week – Carnage/Jon Shayde (Review score: 9 Points/1 Appearance; 9.0 Pts/App). The reality-hoping symbiote notches his first Antagonist of the Week as he begins his murder spree across the Venomverse.
